3200 km with the Ro80 on holydays in France
As usual for a long trip like this, Van Heusden and the gearbox oil renewed and new plugs check the Ro80 carefully. I want to prevent starting problems and then there is our first day. We own the car only 3 months. We packed the Ro80 very early in the morning and went off at 06.30. We visited a gas station and that was necessary because the tank was almost empty. 60 liter where our first expenses on our trip to France.
On our way to the south
I had planned the trip via Maastricht, Liege, and Luxembourg. Luxembourg because the gas is very cheap (77urocent a liter) and the engine oil was cheap too. At the tank station I also bought a diesel cleaning and put half a liter in the tank to clean the engine. At 18.00 we arrived at Dijon and stayed at the IBIS hotel. The next day we started early and because we choose the Route Nationale we got along nicely. On our left hand we saw the Toll route and it was very busy with cars, even a traffic jam and we drove by with a smile. Our trip was planned with the planner of Shell and was not very logic. We still followed this planner and as a result we arrived almost at our destination.

It was a Saturday and we want to relax on Sunday so we visited a Supermarche (supermarket) to do some shopping. This turned out to be a very good decision because the last 10 km we had to climp up a mountain with very small roads and although I had a lot of experience in Switzerland, I was happy that after 500 meters of goat pads we where there. It was very beautiful and a silence paradise. But I said to my wife: If I have to drive this every day, I do not know if I will go down and up the mountain again. But luckily it all went OK and got use to it.

We drove the Ro 80 14 day’s mountain up and down and never had a problem with the car and despite cars coming the other way on small roads of 1 ½ car. The engine of the Ro80 was at his best and I think that the long and hot journey to our destination burned away the dirt inside the engine. We had no starting problems and from 2200 revs the car was at his best. My wife as RO-nald christened some photo’s of the places we have been with the car, with, I send. We are very happy with the Ro and driving I will make the car moor beautifull.
